Mondays - 3:45-5:30pm

6-week session beginning on 9/25 ending on 10/30

After school classes at Candlewood ES for students in grades K to 5. No computer experience necessary. We supply the computers. Students learn structured programming, how to make games, animations, etc.

Introductory and Beginner Spanish

12-week session beginning on 9/25 ending on 12/11

Introductory Spanish  

A fun immersion style introduction to a new language with songs, activities, puppets and storytelling! Our theme this session is the City Mouse & the Country Mouse and children will enjoy learning vocabulary and expressions in Spanish relating to this age-appropriate story. We’ll sing, play games, identify, count, describe and retell the story with topics including colors, numbers, body parts, family, animals, feelings, directions, actions words, and more - en español! (Different themes, offered Fall and Winter for grades K-1

Beginner Spanish  

Children learn and practice speaking Spanish with friends in a fun and informal immersion setting! Explore a new language with native speaking Spanish teachers through games, songs, cultural notes, play acting and activities. Favorite topics include a birthday party, farm animals, pets, sports & interests, family, breakfast foods and more - en español! Includes a workbook to support early reading and writing skills for young language learners. (Different themes, offered Fall and Winter for grades 2-5, no prerequisite)

Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm the body, mind, and emotions. In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

Tuesdays - 3:45-4:40pm 
Hip Hop

Grades:K - 3

8-week session beginning 9/26 ending on 11/14

Hip Hop is a high-energy dance form that uses the latest sounds in rap, R&B, and pop music, and is perfect for boys and girls who love to move! This fun-filled class immerses students in all aspects of motion, developing their balance, coordination and strength, as well as promoting creativity, teamwork, and self-esteem. We use child-friendly music in all of our Hip Hop classes (often Kids Bop), and all movement is age-appropriate. Parents are invited to join us on the last day of class for a Parent’s Day performance.

Wednesdays - 3:45-4:45pm 
Beginning Guitar

Cost: $200 plus $10 fee for guitar books
8-week session beginning on 9/27 ending on 11/15 

Special discounted price. EACH STUDENT MUST BRING A GUITAR. Minimum enrollment for this class is 4; maximum if 6. Register ASAP.

Guitar 101 will focus on the group aspect of guitar performance. As Guitar 101 takes the student through the basics of their instrument and music theory, Guitar 101 will focus more on creating multi-part music as an ensemble, with the end result being a recording made in the studio and a performance at the end of the session. Students will learn and play together in a team-like atmosphere, motivating and encouraging each other to practice and perform. Beginners will learn drop D tuning and first position chords, advanced students will work with barre chords and inversions. Popular song forms will also be covered. The students will create their own songs based on I-IV-V and 12 bar blues forms. Related scales will be taught and the instructor will assist in creating melodies and harmonies. The songs will be selected based on the group’s skill level. The songs will consist of consist of a rhythm part, lead melody, accompanying melody, and a bass line. Solo sections and advanced progressions are introduced as the group progresses Students will also learn the basics of multi-track recording, including mic placement and achieving recording tones. This can be used as an introduction to the recording arts program.

Intro to STEM with LEGO®

Cost: $136 per student per course 
8-week session beginning on 9/27 ending on 11/15

Intro to STEM with LEGO®: Ratchet up your imagination with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as: Fire Trucks, Space Stations, Tugboats, and the Eiffel Tower. Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. There are no prerequisites for this course.

8-week session beginning on 9/28 ending on 11/30

​Soccer Shots Premier focuses on individual skill, fitness and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.

6-week session beginning on 9/28 ending on 11/2

Back to school is in full swing as we present a bountiful selection of drawing that introduces our students to a fascinating world of color, pattern, and design. We say farewell to summer in our detailed still life drawing of a beach and explore color usage and composition in our chameleon and stylized fall leaves drawing. Our students will learn cultural theme as they draw and color Kawaii inspired art. All this amore awaits your child in a Young Rembrandts classroom!

Chess Club
Vendor: Creative Enrichment
Grades: K-5
Cost: $200
8-week session beginning on 9/29 ending on 12/11

Students will learn all about the chess pieces and chess board at a gentle pace, adding details bit by bit as they accumulate all the knowledge necessary to play a full game of chess. Playing chess is a great way to develop a child’s critical thinking skills, sportsmanship, and patience-all while having fun!

The Sampler

The Sampler Program features hand-picked lessons from Creative Enrichment’s entire lineup of courses. The Sampler Program is an ideal choice for schools and parents that would like to increase children’s exposure to a variety of fundamental knowledge areas, including visual art, science, cooking, math, and literature. The Sampler Program’s multidisciplinary curriculum that instills love of learning and prepares students for success in their regular school day.
