Please take a look at our After-School Enrichment programs for the 2020-2021 school year!

We have been working with our vendors to provide some fun and interactive programs during the COVID pandemic.

For the SPRING SESSION, we have in-person and virtual classes.

IN-PERSON Shining Kids Yoga
Grades: K-5
Cost: $155; register by 4/1 for $10 off
Day: Mondays
Time: 3:30
Length: 8 weeks

Stretch, breathe, and relax with outdoor yoga at Candlewood Elementary! Children will learn yoga poses, deep breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques in a fun, interactive environment. Each class ends with a period of meditation and deep relaxation. Masks are required during yoga class. Each child will need to bring their own yoga mat for yoga class.

Grades: K - 3

Learn to play the world’s sport! Players are introduced to ball control techniques for dribbling, passing and shooting. Each class will include competitions in footwork agility, relays, and world cup!

IN-PERSON Beginner Hip Hop
Grades: K - 4

Hip Hop is a high-energy dance form that uses the latest sounds in rap, R&B, and pop music, and is perfect for boys and girls who love to move! This fun-filled class immerses students in all aspects of motion, developing their balance, coordination and strength, as well as promoting creativity, teamwork, adn self-esteem. We use child-friendly music in all of our Hip Hop classes (often Kids Bop), and all movement is age-appropriate. Students will learn hip hop choreography that they will perform on the last day of class. Parents are invited to join us on the last day of class for a Parent's Day performance.

The spring season is an exciting time to be a part of Young Rembrandts. Springtime is all about vibrant colors, and our colorful drawings are guaranteed to capture your attention. Students will learn how to think outside of the box as they learn to draw a space monster and create stylized drawings of flowers, snails, and more. We'll also explore historical themes with our comic book-inspired drawing and a portrait of Canadian hero, Terry Fox. Classes held outside and all students will receive their own supplies.

Students will learn proper running technique and work towards achieving distance goals while having fun through confidence-building drills and games. Activities include relays, flag tag, cat and mouse, scarf race, and many more as we run 4 run!

VIRTUAL Beginner American Sign Language
Grades: 1-4

The beginner ASL course will accommodate both new and previous beginner level students by including new beginner level material! Explore a new world of communication by learning American Sign Language (ASL)! ASL is the fourth most commonly used language in the U.S., and learning ASL can open new lines of communication between hearing and hearing impaired individuals. Additionally, studies have shown that learning the ASL signs for letters and words can help children with spelling and vocabulary skills. The students will learn the signs for basic vocabulary terms and sentences in a fun, child -friendly environment. Parents are invited to join us on this day for a Parent’s Day Performance.

Silver Knights has taught more than 100,000 kids to play chess since 2006, including kids who've won 45+ state and national championships, but most students are beginners looking to learn and have fun.
